Upgrading from v1.20:
--------------------
The executable file TCBVD121.EXE is a drop-in replacement for TCBVD120.EXE.
Copy TCBVD121.EXE to where your TVD files are and change your batch file(s)
Upgrading from v1.19:
--------------------
Upgrading to v1.21 from v1.19 should be done as follows:
The two files TCBVD120.EXE and SETUP20.EXE are drop in replacements for
TCBVD119.EXE and SETUP19.EXE. Place only those two .EXE files in your
TVD directory and make the appropriate changes to the batch file(s)
that load TVD.
Upgrading from v1.17 and v1.18:
------------------------------
UPGRADING to v1.20 from version 1.18 or 1.17 is a snap!
De-archive only the following files to your verify door directory:
TCBVD120.EXE
SETUP20.EXE
WELCOME
WELCOMEG
Also de-archive the new TCBVTEXT
if you are upgrading from v1.17.
Then run option #2 of the setup program and change your batch file(s) that
load the door. Running option #2 will automatically update your config
file(s) by setting lines 1 and 2 to new default entries and by adding
one additional line to the bottom of the config file.
You may also upgrade manually by de-archiving the above mentioned files then
make the following changes to your TCBV.CNF file(s):
>>Change lines 1 and 2 to their new defaults or settings you prefer. see docs:
>>Change line 1 to a setting of 5 and line 2 to a setting of 2.
Line 1 sets the number of times TVD will attempt to dial a local number
Line 2 sets the number of times TVD will attempt to dial a long distance
number.
>>Change (v1.17) or verify (v1.18) line 3 to read Y or N to enable/disable
long distance dialing
(Y enables long distance dialing, N disables long distance dialing)
>>Add one line at the bottom of the config file to indicate your preferred
modem response timeout setting. Minimum setting is 30 seconds.
>>Change the batch file that loads the door to reflect the TCBVD119.EXE file.
You should also copy the following updated files over the existing ones:
TCBVD120.EXE
SETUP20.EXE
TCBVTEXT
WELCOME
WELCOMEG
No other reconfiguration is necessary.
All other users:
----------------
UPGRADING to v1.20 from version 1.15
Since there are quite a few registered users of TCBVD115 (and quite a few
unregistered I suspect), I have re-written the setup program to make both
new installations and upgrades much easier.
If you haven't already done so, please register your copy of TCBV.
The registered version prevents users from calling your system under
several different user names because once a user phone number has been
successfully verified, the registered version will NOT call that
number back again.
To upgrade to this version from version 1.15, first make a backup of
your current TCBV files that are in use!
Copy only the following files to the directory where you are currently
running TCBV: (over-writing the existing files)
SETUP20.EXE
TCBVD120.EXE
TCBVTEXT
WELCOME
WELCOMEG
NOTE: If your door has multiple config files, as should be the case if you
have it configured for multi-node, rename them (one at a time!) to
the default config file name of TCBV.CNF, then run the setup program as
described below for each of them. Don't forget to rename them back as
you finish updating each one.
Run the setup program and using option #1 which will make changes to
the first 9 lines in the config file. Save the changes.
Please check your new config file using option #2 to make sure all is well,
paying special attention to path and file names.
Be sure to change your door batch file(s) that load TVD to reflect the
new TCBVD120.EXE name. Also note that the pack utility has been updated.
